I have medium-frame, over-wintered nucs for sale for pickup in April. They will contain two frames of brood, two of honey/pollen, one frame for expansion and, of course, the queen and bees. You will pick them up in a waxed-cardboard nuc box that is temporary housing. You will need to transfer them to your own hive equipment. But, they can remain in the nuc box from a few days to a few weeks. Medium frame nucs can be used to start either medium or deep frame hives.
I can deliver, with no additional cost, to pick up points in Lynchburg and Roanoke or you may pick them up in Blacksburg.
My bees are state inspected. The queens are from some of the best lines in the country; New World Carniolan, Purvis Brothers, and Dr. Joe Latshaw’s Aurea line. Google any of those lines to learn more.
Nucs are a better way to start new hives than package bees since a nuc hive is functioning with brood hatching, a laying queen, drawn comb, and honey/pollen stores. Price $110. with no frame exchange or $100 if you buy ten or more. E-mail using the Reply to: link above or call .
